If your client has accidentally opted out of Paragon emails or their email address bounced, you can help them resubscribe quickly and easily. This guide focuses only on the opt-in process.
The opt-in link never changes, so you can copy and reuse it any time a client needs to resubscribe.
It's best to send the link using your own email program (like Outlook or Gmail) to avoid triggering errors or sending a blank message from within Paragon.
This article walks you through how to help your client opt back in:
1. Confirm if a client has opted out
You can easily identify opted-out clients in both Paragon Connect and Paragon Classic, but Paragon Connect is the quickest option. It takes fewer steps and provides the opt-in link right away.
Paragon Connect
- In Contacts, opted-out clients show a highlighted Email icon (
).
- When you try to send an email, an Opted-Out pop-up will appear to let you know this client can't receive emails from Paragon.
Paragon Classic
You can check if a client is opted out in two ways:
- In the Contacts Manager, an Opted-Out icon (
) appears under the Email column for opted-out clients.
Important! Clicking the opted-out icon does not generate a working email—it opens a blank message with the address filled in as "Opted Out." Instead, try sending an email to your clients email address to get the error message with opt-in link (example below). For detailed steps go to the Paragon Classic section in this article.
- When sending an email, if the client has opted out, you'll see an error message in the Email Sent window. Your message will NOT be delivered.
If your client has not opted out take a look at our article, Quick Checklist: Why Your Client Might Not Be Getting Emails. |
2. Check the client's email address
Before resending the opt-in link, confirm the client's email is entered correctly. Typos or old addresses can block delivery or trigger a bounce.
Paragon Connect
- Tap theMenu (
), then Contacts.
- Tap the contact's name.
- Tap More Options (
), then tap Edit.
- Review and update the email address if needed. Tap Save.
- You will be prompted to confirm you want to update the automatic email notifications with this new email. Tap Update.
- If the email address is correct, your client may have unsubscribed accidentally. Confirm with your client if they would like to opt back in, then proceed with sending the opt-in link.
Paragon Classic
- Click Contacts, then Contact Manager.
- Click the contact's name.
- Click Contact Information.
- Confirm the email address is entered correctly and make any necessary corrections. Then click Save.
- When prompted, click Update Notifications to apply the email changes in their notifications.
- If the email address is correct, your client may have unsubscribed accidentally. Confirm with your client if they would like to opt back in, then proceed with sending the opt-in link.
3. Send the Opt-In Link
The easiest and most reliable way to help your client resubscribe is to send them the opt-in link using your email program (such as Gmail or Outlook)–not from Paragon–to reduce the risk of delivery errors.
Opt-In Link
You can return to this page anytime to copy the link or use Paragon Connect to access it quickly.

A sample message you can send to your client is available at the end of this article.
Paragon Connect
- Tap the Menu (
), then Contacts.
- Tap the highlighted Email (
) icon showing it is opted out.
- In the Opted Out pop-up, click Copy Opt-In Link.
- Open your email app (outside of Paragon) and paste the link into an email to your client.
- Follow up with your client to ensure they complete the opt-in process.
Optional: You can complete the opt-in on your client's behalf using the confirmation email they receive, but we recommend having your client finish the process themselves to ensure they fully consent and recognize the source of future emails.
Paragon Classic
While this method is available, it's less predictable. Clicking Send may result in either an error message or a blank email being delivered if the client has not opted out.
- Click Compose Email on the top of Paragon Classic's Homepage.
- Enter your client's email and click Send.
- You will receive an error message indicating the email has been opted out. Click the link in the message to open the Opt-In Wizard or copy the link to send it using your regular email program.
