If your client has accidentally opted out of Paragon emails or their email address bounced, you can help them resubscribe quickly and easily. Clients might opt out by clicking the unsubscribe link in a Paragon email or by previously unsubscribing from all Paragon messages. Bounce-backs, on the other hand, are usually due to issues with the client’s email provider.
You can resolve this in just a few steps. If you already know the client is opted out, you can skip ahead and send the opt-in email directly. The opt-in link never changes and can be used any time.
How to tell if a client has opted out
You can easily spot opted-out clients in both Paragon Connect and Paragon Classic using visual indicators when viewing or emailing contacts.
Paragon Connect
In Contacts, opted-out clients show a highlighted Email icon ().
When you try to send an email, an Opted-Out pop-up will appear to let you know this client can't receive emails from Paragon.
Paragon Classic
In the Contacts Manager, an Opt-Out icon () appears under the Email column for opted-out clients.
If you attempt to email the contact, you’ll receive an error message in the Email Sent window. The email you composed has not been sent.
Check the Email Address
Before resending the opt-in link, ensure the client's email address is correct:

Send the Opt-In Link
The easiest and most reliable way to help your client resubscribe is to send them the opt-in link below using your regular email program. This ensures you don’t trigger any errors or send a blank email by accident.
You can return to this page anytime to copy the link or use Paragon Connect to access it quickly.

A sample message you can send to your client is available at the end of this article.
Paragon Connect
1. Tap the Menu (
2. Tap the highlighted Email (
3. In the Opted Out pop-up, click Copy Opt-In Link.
4. Open your email program (outside of Paragon) and paste the link into an email to your client.
5. Follow up with your client to ensure they complete the opt-in process.
Optional: You can complete the opt-in on your client’s behalf using the confirmation email they receive, but we recommend having your client finish the process themselves to ensure they fully consent and recognize the source of future emails. |
Within Paragon Classic
While this method is available, it’s less predictable. Clicking Send may result in either an error message or a blank email being delivered if the client has not opted out.
If you still wish to proceed:
1. Click Compose Email on the top of Paragon Classic's Homepage.
2. Enter your client’s email and click Send.
3. You will receive an error message indicating the email has been opted out. Click the link in the message to open the Opt-In Wizard or copy the link to send it using your regular email program.
The recommended approach is to send the link directly to your client, so they can complete the opt-in themselves. This ensures they provide full consent and are aware that future emails will come from Paragon. If the client prefers that you complete the process on their behalf, follow the steps below.
4. Click the Opt In link on the error message and enter your client’s email address.
5. Choose one of the two options:
6. Click Subscribe. |
7. Your client is now successfully subscribed to receive your emails sent from Paragon. They will receive an email for confirmation purposes only and no action is required. |
