Photographer's rights:
In Canada, the person who takes the photo (the photographer) is typically the owner of the copyright.
This means they have the exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute and display their work.
Who owns the copyright:
Usually the person who creates a work is the owner of the copyright and moral rights associated with that work. However, that is not always the case. If a work is created by an employee, in the course of their employment, then the employer will be the owner of the work – unless there is an agreement in place that provides otherwise.
Rights of copyright owner:
The "owner" of the copyright is the only one with the right to sell, copy, distribute, reproduce or profit from the work.
