How to Search for Wîkhkwêntôwin (formerly Oliver) in Paragon

The Edmonton community previously known as Oliver has been renamed Wîkhkwêntôwin (We-Kwen-To-Win), which is Cree for 'Circle of Friends.' To search for this community in Paragon, be sure to include the correct special characters. Use the community code 003605 when searching for or entering a listing in Wîkhkwêntôwin.

Searching by Community Name

First, ensure you use the proper spelling. You must type "Wîkhkwêntôwin" with the special characters for it to appear in search results.

Typing Special Characters On Smartphones

Android and iOS: Press and hold the relevant letter on your keyboard to reveal accent options. Slide your finger to select the correct character:

  • î: Hold "i," then select î.
  • ê: Hold "e," then select ê.
  • ô: Hold "o," then select ô.

Typing Special Characters On Windows

Keyboard with a Numeric Pad: Use the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • î: Press Alt + 0238 on the numeric keypad.
  • ê: Press Alt + 0234 on the numeric keypad.
  • ô: Press Alt + 0244 on the numeric keypad.

Note: The Alt method only works with keyboards that have a numeric keypad.

Keyboard without Numeric Pad: Use the Character Map tool:

  • Press Windows + R, type charmap, and press enter.
  • Find the letters î, ê, and ô, then copy and paste them as needed.
    Note: You're keyboard may label the Windows key as "Start".

Typing Special Characters On a Mac

  1. Click where you want to place the letter, then hold down that key on the keyboard to display the accent menu. (If the key doesn’t have any possible accents or other diacritical marks, the menu doesn’t appear.)

  2. In the menu, click the character you want to use.
  3. You can also press the number key shown for a mark or use the arrow keys to cycle through the marks, then press the Space bar to select one.
