Your clients can start a search using the Property Search bar or the Near Me search in the banner at the top of the Collaboration Center Dashboard. They can also access Property Search through the Quick Actions widget on the dashboard or via the Menu ().
For instructions on how to enable search for your clients, see Empower Your Buyers to Create Their Own Saved Searches.
In this article, we'll cover how clients access searches, perform a search, use the map controls, and save searches to receive notifications. Click the links below to jump to specific sections:
Property Search Bar and Near Me Search
If you've enabled search functionality for your clients in the Collaboration Center, they can use the Property Search bar with the Near Me Search to quickly find listings based on their preferences or current location. By tapping the Near Me () icon, clients can view properties on a map and explore nearby options effortlessly.
Additionally, clients can search by address, place, or neighborhood using Google's address search functionality. When the location appears in the results, they can tap on it or use the arrow keys to highlight the result and press Enter to view it on the map.
Property Search
To access the Property Search, tap Property Search from the Quick Actions widget or through the Menu (). The map will open to your current location.
Narrowing Results on the Map with Search Criteria
By default, the map opens to the Residential class and Active status. To adjust these criteria, tap the Filter () icon. The Class and Status options are based on your preferences (Learn how to change them here.).
The search criteria are split into two sections:
|
Primary Criteria: This section opens by default and includes essential fields such as Status, List Price, Total Bedrooms, Total Baths, and Area/City. | |
Additional Criteria: Tap this section to expand it. It includes more detailed options like Building Type (e.g., detached, attached, apartment high-rise), Total Floor Area Above Grade (with metric or imperial options), Basement Development, Year Built, and more. |
As you fill out the criteria, the number of results updates in real-time. Even if the number of results reaches zero, don't worry—you can still save the search, and if any new listings match in the future, you'll be notified. Note that the map and saved search can display and save up to 500 listings. To review the criteria you've filled in, tap the Criteria Summary () icon. This will hide any blank fields. Tap it again to show all available search fields. Once you're done entering criteria, tap Apply. |
Map Boundary as Criteria
It’s important to remember that the map boundaries (indicated by blue dashed lines) are automatically part of your search criteria and will be saved along with the search. The map will save whatever zoom level and location are visible when the search is saved. When your clients revisit the saved search, it will reload this same map view, displaying the pre-saved shape. If they zoom out far enough, the original map boundary will reappear.
If they draw a shape on the map, the map boundary feature will automatically turn off. Excluding the drawn shape will turn the map boundary back on, assuming they want to exclude the shape from the boundary.

Note, your clients don’t need to save a search to categorize or comment on listings. They can tap on any listing and mark it as a favorite, possible, or rejected. Additionally, they can tag, comment on, and request showings for these listings. This means that the totals for categories might not always match the numbers indicated on the Saved Search(es). For instance, if a client has marked 5 listings as "possible" in their saved searches but also marked an additional listing as "possible" outside of their saved searches, the total for "possible" would be 6. |
