For various reasons, you may encounter an error when emailing a client. This could be due to the client accidentally clicking the opt-out link in a Paragon email, previously opting out of all Paragon emails, or having their email bounce back. Each contact in Paragon has the option to opt-out of receiving automated emails from the system.
If a contact has opted out, the Email () icon will be highlighted () to help you quickly identify these contacts.
Step 1: Check the Email Address
We recommend to start by checking if their email address was entered correctly:
- Click on the contact's name.
- In the top-right of the toolbar, click More Options () and select Edit.
- Double-check the email address is entered correctly. If the email address was incorrect, enter the correct one and click Save.
- You will be prompted to confirm you want to update the automatic email notifications with this new email, click Update.
Note: Even after correcting the email, you still need to follow the opt-in process below to ensure your client can receive emails again. - If the email is correct, reach out to your client to confirm whether they accidentally opted out.
Step 2: Sending the Opt-In Link
Once you've verified the email, follow these steps to have your client opt back in:
- Click the Opted-Out Email () icon.
- In the Opted Out pop-up, click Copy Opt-In Link.
- Open your email program (outside of Paragon) and paste the link into the message body and send the email.
💡Tip!💡 At the bottom of this page there is a sample email template with instructions to send to your client. - Follow up with your client to ensure they complete the opt-in process.

Subject: Option to Re-Subscribe to Paragon Communications
Dear [Client name],
As we discussed, your email has been opted out of receiving emails from Paragon. If you wish to receive notifications about new or updated listing matches, you'll need to opt back in.
Here's how you can opt back in:

Click the link [insert link here].

Enter your email address when prompted.

Click the Next button.

Choose one of the following options:
- Opt-in to receive emails from [Your Email Address]
- Opt-in to receive emails from any agent using Paragon
- Continue to block all emails from any agent using Paragon
