Opt-In to receiving ShowingTime Text Messages (SMS)

ShowingTime uses text messages to send you and your clients (if enabled) important updates about showing appointments. However, some mobile carriers may not allow text messages from ShowingTime, which can cause you and your clients to miss out on critical information about your appointments.

To avoid this problem, ShowingTime has implemented a new opt-in process that requires you to confirm your consent to receive SMS notifications from ShowingTime.

What is the opt-in process?

  1. When you add or update your mobile number in the ShowingTime system, you will receive an opt-in message from ShowingTime asking you to confirm your consent to receive SMS notifications.
    The message will say: "You've been added to ShowingTime to receive texts for real estate appointments and messages related to our services. To give ShowingTime permission to send you these messages at this number, reply START to confirm or STOP to not receive text messages."
  2. Reply START to the opt-in message to continue receiving SMS notifications from ShowingTime. If you do not reply START, ShowingTime will stop sending SMS notifications to you.
  3. After replying, you will receive a confirmation message. Any messages that were not sent while waiting for the opt-in will be delivered.
  4. If you ignore the opt-in message, ShowingTime will resend it two more times, every 24 hours, until it receives a response from you. If you ignore all three opt-in messages, or reply STOP, you will be opting out of SMS notifications from ShowingTime.
  5. If you opt out of SMS notifications, you can opt back in at any time two ways: 
    A) Open a new message on your mobile and send START to 847-865-6549, which is ShowingTime's opt-in number.
    B) To opt-in within ShowingTime if you have a listing or if your clients have opted out, follow the steps on this knowledge base article:  Opt-in via ShowingTime.

Tips Lightbulb.pngImportant Items to Note:

  • If you are inactive for more than 60 days (about 2 months), or if you change your mobile number, you will need to go through the opt-in process again to receive SMS notifications from ShowingTime.
  • The opt-in process applies to both REALTORS® and clients who use ShowingTime. Clients will receive the same opt-in message as agents and will need to reply "START" to confirm their consent to receive SMS notifications from ShowingTime.
